The Founder’s Journey
I’m Eric, the founder of Surmount Sourcing, a leading China sourcing company that helps people find reliable manufacturers in China and import quality merchandise to their countries.
China offers the largest and most advanced manufacturing resources in the world. However, finding the right suppliers to produce high-quality goods comes with many challenges and potential risks. That’s why I created a one-stop China sourcing solution to support foreign importers, especially small businesses, in navigating this complex market.
As the heart of global manufacturing, China is home to the world’s most extensive and robust supplier network. Yet, identifying trustworthy factories capable of meeting international quality standards can be difficult and risky. My firsthand experience with these obstacles inspired me to build a reliable, all-in-one sourcing platform that delivers fast and steady support to global importers, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises with limited resources.
I was born into a family deeply involved in manufacturing and trade. Growing up, I witnessed China’s incredible rise as the “world’s factory” and saw my hometown, Yiwu, transform from a small market into the largest wholesale hub in the world. In September 2007, at just 22 years old and fresh out of college, I began my career in international trade as a translator at the Yiwu International Trade Market. With a strong passion for business and growing expertise, I started helping foreign clients source products, laying the foundation for years of hands-on experience.
In 2015, I officially founded Surmount Sourcing. Over the past decade, we’ve grown from a solo operation into a professional team of over 20 experts. We have served more than 400 clients across 30 countries and earned widespread trust and recognition.
Through years of experience and real-world challenges, I’ve learned many valuable lessons, which I now share openly on social media. Recently, I started posting on TikTok, sharing qualified products, trusted suppliers, and my personal sourcing insights to make China sourcing more accessible for people around the world.
Partner’s Story
I’m Darius, a partner at Surmount Sourcing, based in Quebec, Canada. I come from a family deeply involved in the transportation, warehousing, and finance industries, which gave me a strong foundation in logistics and business operations from an early age.
Right after high school, I began working closely with professionals who have over 30 years of experience in their fields. Through hands-on learning and real-world challenges, I quickly developed a deep understanding of freight coordination, inventory management, and financial planning. Over time, I started helping others manage their logistics and finances more effectively, gaining a strong reputation for reliability and efficiency.
In 2024, I joined Surmount Sourcing as a partner, working alongside Eric and the rest of the team. I specialize in assisting clients with sourcing products from China, coordinating factory visits, collaborating with Eric to secure competitive pricing, and providing comprehensive support to overcome any challenges while offering a wide range of solutions.
Together, we combine international sourcing expertise with a strong logistical and financial backbone to offer clients a complete, dependable solution. My goal is to ensure our clients not only source quality products from trusted manufacturers but also have the support they need to transport, store, and manage their goods with confidence.
